1. Booking, prices and mileage

A booking is confirmed only when ALBaraka issues written confirmation. The confirmation states the vehicle category, dates, locations, price, deposit, excess and extras. For rentals of one to three days, the allowance is 150 km per rental day (450 km for three days). Each additional 100 km or part thereof is USD 14.10. Rentals longer than three days include unlimited mileage. Where a platform administers payment, cancellation or refund, its terms also apply to those transactions.

2. Driver eligibility and documents

Drivers must be 21–70 years old and must have held a valid licence for at least two years. Arabic and English licences are accepted; an International Driving Permit is required when the licence is not in English and must accompany the original licence. Drivers aged 21–24 and 65–70 pay USD 7.05 per rental day. Up to two additional drivers may be added at USD 7.05 per driver per day, with no maximum total. Every driver must be named in the agreement and present original valid documents.

3. Payment and security deposit

Rental charges may be paid by cash, Visa, Mastercard, debit or prepaid card. American Express is not accepted. The security deposit must be provided by a valid credit card in the main driver’s name; cash and debit cards are not accepted for the deposit. The deposit is a temporary authorisation. ALBaraka starts releasing or refunding any undisputed balance within 21 business days; bank processing may take longer.

4. Insurance, excess and optional protection

Basic cover includes third-party liability and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). Theft is covered, but the customer is liable for an amount equal to six months’ rental calculated at the approved monthly rate for the same vehicle. The damage excess applies separately to each incident.

There is no zero-excess product. The optional-protection fees and resulting excess are shown in the table. For Economy, Mid-size and SUV categories, the damage excess is unchanged. For Luxury / large, it falls from USD 2,500 to USD 1,800. Optional protection does not remove the security deposit or exclusions. An official police report or sketch is mandatory. A customer officially found not at fault pays no amount. Tyres, wheels, glass, interior, roof, underside, keys, wrong fuel, unpaved roads and off-road use are excluded. Cover is void for running a red light, alcohol or drugs, misuse or negligence, or driving by a person not named in the agreement. Third-party protection does not change obligations to ALBaraka unless accepted in writing.

5. Collection, airport and delivery

Queen Alia Airport customers are met in the arrivals hall. Service hours are 9:00 a.m.–1:00 a.m. The airport charge is USD 25, plus USD 25 outside those hours. Delivery charges are per vehicle, per direction, include tax, and require availability and written confirmation.

6. Late collection, no-show, cancellation and refunds

The collection waiting period is 90 minutes. A flight is monitored when a correct flight number is supplied. A notified flight delay is not treated as a no-show. Cancellation is free at any time before the rental begins, including the final 48 hours. A direct-booking no-show charge is 35% of the booking value when the customer neither attends nor cancels or arranges an alternative. After the rental starts, the full booking value is payable and unused days are non-refundable. Amendment requests must be made at least 24 hours before collection and remain subject to availability and revised price. Eligible refunds are initiated within 21 business days.

7. Vehicle category and substitution

Reservations are for a category, not a specific model, unless the model is expressly guaranteed. ALBaraka may supply the same or a higher category at no extra charge while preserving the essential confirmed specifications.

8. Vehicle condition and damage

Collection and return inspections are documented by both video and a check sheet. Unattended return is not permitted, and responsibility continues until ALBaraka receives and inspects the vehicle. There is no separate damage administration fee. The customer is liable for chargeable damage and loss of use during repair, calculated at the approved daily rental rate.

9. Use, roadside assistance and towing

The vehicle may not leave Jordan and may not be used in desert, off-road, unpaved or floodwater conditions, for racing, unlawful activity or unauthorised towing. Free 24/7 roadside assistance is available at +962 6 562 1113. ALBaraka pays towing for a mechanical failure not caused by the customer; the customer pays where the cause is an accident, misuse or negligence. A replacement vehicle is targeted within three hours in Amman; outside Amman timing depends on distance, location and access.

10. Accidents and theft

Prioritise safety, notify the police and ALBaraka immediately, obtain the official report, do not admit liability or settle privately, and provide photographs, third-party details, keys and available evidence. Insurance benefits depend on compliance with these requirements.

11. Fuel, cleaning, smoking and animals

Return the vehicle with the same fuel level. A shortage is charged at the fuel cost plus a USD 46 refuelling fee; no credit is given for excess fuel. Ordinary cleaning is included. Excess cleaning costs USD 32. Smoking is prohibited and incurs a USD 32 cleaning charge. Animals are not permitted.

12. Extensions and late return

Extension must be requested in writing at least 48 hours before return and is valid only after written approval, subject to availability and payment. A rental day is 24 hours from collection. The grace period is 60 minutes; after it, one full additional rental day is charged. An unauthorised late return also incurs USD 200 in addition to the extra rental day and any recovery rights.

13. Fines, property, complaints and law

The customer pays fines attributable to the rental and a 15% administration fee. ALBaraka is not responsible for property left in the vehicle; return is at the customer’s cost. Complaints should be sent to info@barakacarrental.com and are answered within one business day. Jordanian law applies and the competent Jordanian courts have jurisdiction.

14. Optional services

All services are subject to availability. All stated prices include 16% sales tax.
