Choose a permitted place to park and read signs before leaving the vehicle. Where a paid car park is involved, ask about the price and closing time. Keep valuables with you and give yourself enough time to walk between nearby sights rather than moving the car for every short stop.

Build a manageable trip around one main destination per day. A Dead Sea visit can be planned as a dedicated outing. For Petra, think about an overnight stay so your walking time is not squeezed between two long drives.

Do not commit to a scenic detour solely because it appears on a navigation screen. Check the road, daylight and conditions, and compare the route with your confirmed rental permissions. An SUV badge should never be treated as permission to leave paved roads.
