Build the week around your flights

This outline assumes you begin and finish in the Amman or Queen Alia Airport area. It is an editorial planning suggestion, not a packaged tour or a promise about driving times. Check weather, opening information and accommodation before making bookings.

Use your arrival time to decide whether the first day should be a rest day. If you reach Jordan late, shift the sightseeing rather than trying to recover the lost hours on the road. Confirm the vehicle collection and return plan through your airport rental enquiry.

One way to organise the seven days

Suggested pace for a week starting near Amman
DayMain focusPlanning priority
1Arrive and settle in AmmanCollect the car at the agreed time; keep the evening easy.
2A day in AmmanGroup nearby visits and confirm parking.
3Travel to Wadi MusaChoose a direct or scenic route; sleep near Petra.
4PetraGive the visit its own day and a second nearby night.
5Travel to Wadi RumReach the agreed car park for your camp transfer.
6Return toward the Dead Sea or AmmanAllow a substantial travel day; choose the overnight base carefully.
7Return the car and departUse the flight schedule to decide whether any short activity fits.

For more time at the Dead Sea, add a night or remove another stop. If Aqaba is a priority, extend the holiday or exchange days elsewhere. Avoid adding every destination to the same seven-day framework.

Let Petra determine the pace of the middle days

The overnight stays around Petra separate the road journey from the main visit. Check the official hours and plan the time you need on foot. Our Amman to Petra guide explains the road choices and arrival preparation.

A scenic journey is easiest to enjoy when the number of fixed appointments is small. Choose a few stops, keep a break for lunch and leave enough time for the final approach to your accommodation.

Make the Wadi Rum handover explicit

Agree a paved-road meeting point, parking and a camp transfer with your operator before day five. The desert experience should not depend on driving your rental across sand. Use the Wadi Rum arrival guide to plan the final part.

For day six, check when the operator can return you to the car and choose an overnight base that works with the next day’s flight. A Dead Sea stay is an option to assess, not a requirement to force into the schedule.

Adjust the car and the itinerary together

Send the number of travellers, suitcase count and all collection and return details with your rental request. More seats can mean less luggage space when all seats are occupied. Use the guidance on each vehicle page and ask for confirmation of anything essential.

Keep a flexible day or a removable stop for changes in weather or travel plans. Recheck your route and official resources shortly before travel. The visitor links directory keeps the relevant planning sites together.

Useful questions

Can I fit Aqaba into this week?

Consider adding time or replacing another stop. Adding Aqaba without changing the plan leaves less time for the places already included.

Is this an ALBaraka tour package?

No. It is a suggested self-drive itinerary. Rental arrangements, accommodation, tickets and activities need their own confirmations.
